Thank You Gift Card Holder

I hope you enjoyed the Blog Hop on Sunday!  Hawaii Ink sure does have a lot of talent!

Here is a little more information on the project I created for the blog hop.

Thank You Gift Card 1Here is how the gift card holder started out before making it extra awesome.  I used Coastal Cabana cardstock and cut it out to be 9-1/4″ by 5-1/4″.  Then, with the cardstock running in landscape orientation, I scored at the 1-1/2″ and 6″ marks.  Turning the cardstock into portrait orientation, I scored at 1/2″ on one side and 1/2″ on the opposite side.  I cut at the 1/2″ mark down to the 6″ mark and adhered those extra little flaps down with sticky strip.  Then, I stamped the big, beautiful “Thank You” in white craft ink using the photopolymer set “Another Thank You”.

Thank You Gift Card 2I then added some Strawberry Slush stretch ruffle trim and a little bit of Winter Frost Speciality Designer Series Paper.

Thank You Gift Card 5To the inside, I used sticky strip to adhere a 3-3/4″ by 3-1/4″ piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, which was scored at 3/8″ to secure to to the inside top flap of the gift card holder.  That way, when you open it up…

Thank You Gift Card 4…the gift card slides up!  Very cool!

Thank You Gift Card 6You can adhere the gift card with a glue dot so it stays in place.

I hope you enjoyed this project!

Hawaii Ink Holiday 3D Project Blog Hop

Blog Hop header November 10 2013Welcome to the Hawaii Ink Holiday 3D Project Blog Hop!  Hawaii Ink is led by Lisa Curcio, a Founder’s Circle member (which is a HUGE deal in the Stampin’ Up! world!)  There is a lot of talent in this group, so be sure to check out all of the projects in this hop!

Here is my project for this blog hop.

Thank You Gift Card 3

I chose to go a little more subtle with my holiday gift card holder.  I plan to give this to my favorite UPS man for Christmas.

Here is what it looks like when you open it up:

Thank You Gift Card 4

Oh, I love how the card slides up when you open the gift card holder.  Such a cool 3D project!

**Please note, the colors are off in these photos.  I am not sure what went wrong, but the background is supposed to be white, not pink, and it made all of the colors a bit off.  The colors used are Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Smoky Slate and Strawberry Slush.

I will post more details about how I created this project on Tuesday, so be sure to check back!

Card: Finally!

I really hope you all enjoyed yesterday’s Hawaii Ink Blog Hop!  It was a ton of fun and there is a lot of talent in our group!

Here are some details on how I created yesterday’s hop card.

All About You

The base of the card is Whisper White cardstock.  I used Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper, which was carried over from last year’s catalog.  I am so glad that it was!  The colors are so much fun to play with.

The stamp set is new, and I am in love with it.  It has a lot of fun greetings, so the title of the set Really Good Greetings, is a really good name!

To make the flags, I used a square punch, eyeballed it so it would be lined up properly, and punched it out.  So simple!  I love this technique to create flags.

Card: Simple Butterfly

Simple Butterfly

Simple.  Beautiful.  Stunning.

I have fallen in love with this Swallowtail butterfly stamp.  Seriously, this handmade card is amazing and SO simple to make!

I used Staz On ink to stamp the butterfly, and put a little pearl on his body for some effect.  The sentiment came from the Petite Pairs set.

Simple Butterfly inside

This inside is a perfect compliment to the front of the card.  Simple and stunning.

I made this card for my Stamp Club.  If you would like to be a part of my monthly Stamp Club, please contact me for more details!

Simple, Pretty Flowers!

Bloomin Marvelous

I adore this card, but I can’t claim it as my own design.  I got the idea almost exactly from Mary Fish over at Stampinpretty.com.  Gotta give credit where credit is due!!  I used Crumb Cake on one of the flowers instead of Sahara Sand, but that is the only real difference between our cards.

I made this card for my Stamp Club.  They requested a quick, easy card, so I made three!  You will have to wait to see the others though.  And let me tell you, it’s worth the wait!

If you like this stamp set, it is only available until March 22nd during Sale-a-Bration, so hurry!

Card: Hit the Road

Hit the RoadThis was such a fun card to make!  I love the vibrant colors and how easy it was to create.  All you have to do is cut the Whisper White paper down to 4″ x 2″, stamp the car in Rich Razzleberry and the balloons using Staz On ink and then color them in.  The awesome design below only looks complicated – it’s from the Patio Party Designer Series Paper set. It is cut down to 4″ x 3″.  Add Gumball Green ribbon across the seam and you’re all set!

Card/Tag: Gingerbread Man

This cute 3″ x 3″ card was very fun to create.  It reminded me a lot of decorating cookies as a child, which I cannot wait to do with my daughter when she is old enough!

The card base is created with Real Red cardstock, and a 1″ strip of Red Glimmer Paper is adhered to the front.  Separately, the Gingerbread man is stamped in Crumb Cake on Whisper White cardstock.  Then, using the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies and the Big Shot, the Gingerbread man is cut out.  Then, Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details are added to the Gingerbread man, just as if you were decorating a real cookie!  I think this would make a great little card, or even a tag on the outside of a Christmas gift.

Supplies Used:

Stamp Sets:

Scentsational Season (121026 w, 121190 c)

Paper:

Real Red Cardstock (102482)

Whisper White Cardstock (100730)

Red Glimmer Paper (121790)

Ink:

Card: Praying for You

This card was created using the neutral color, Basic Gray (121044), as the base, with Whisper White cardstock (100730) on top.

The stamp set used is Thoughts & Prayers (127805).  This is a great set to have on hand for those moments when a friend needs you the most.  A card is a great way to express to someone that they are in your thoughts.

“Praying for You…” was stamped in Basic Gray (126981), along with the tree. To add some color to an otherwise somber card, I added bright Primrose Petals (126841) cardstock punched out with the flower shape from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (126881).  For another special detail, I added Pearl Basic Jewels (119247) to the center of the flowers.  Before adhering the Whisper White cardstock to the base, I ran the edges of the paper onto a Primrose Petals ink pad (126858) for a bit more dimension and color.

Card: Birthday Cupcake

Don’t you just love the colors on this card?!  I think it would be perfect for a little girl’s birthday!  It is very feminine and fun.  I created this card with a Calypso Coral (122925) cardstock base and Lucky Limeade (122926) cardstock as an accent color.  The pretty scallops on the Lucky Limeade cardstock were created using the Eyelet Border punch (119853).  The cherry background paper is from the Berry Blossoms Designer Series Paper.  The stamped cupcake comes from Create a Cupcake (121982) and was colored in using Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade (123002), and Blushing Bride (119801) markers.  The best part are the Basic Pearls (119247) on the top of the cupcake!

Card: Worth the Wait

I absolutely love the colors and simplicity of this card!  The colors used are Real Red, Old Olive, Basic Black and Whisper White.  The cherry came from the stamp set Button Buddies (122737).  Instead of using buttons as the cherry (which you can do if you choose!), I just colored in the cherry with Real Red (100052) and Old Olive (100079) markers.  The star paper came from the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper pack (122348).  I stamped “So worth the wait” in Real Red, Old Olive and Basic Black (100082) markers and it comes from the stamp set Word Play (120651).
