Card: Many Thanks

I am so ready for Fall!  I love the cooler weather, the pretty colors and all of the fun holidays.  This Designer Series Paper from the new Holiday catalog, Sweater Weather, just gives me that warm cozy feeling and makes me want to drink some hot cider!

To create the maple leaf, I inked it up with some Sahara Sand and then “thumped” some Tangerine Tango and Chocolate Chip onto the stamp with the Stampin’ Write markers before stamping the image onto Very Vanilla paper.  To do the thumping, first ink up the whole stamp, and, starting with the lighter color, take your marker and lightly tap or “thump” your marker onto the image.  You can then move onto your darker color.  It’s a pretty neat technique, isn’t it?!

I wanted the “Thanks” image to have a vintage or worn look, so I colored it in Chocolate Chip marker, making sure it wasn’t colored so perfectly.

I love the extra warm look the burlap ribbon gives to this card.  I frayed the edges of the ribbon by removing some of the threads from each end.  To adhere it to the card, I had to push HARD with my Snail Adhesive to get onto the ribbon, but it worked!

Last but certainly not least, I used a piece of Sweater Weather DSP to bring the colors together.

Many Thanks for stopping by!

Card: Thinking of You

This card was super simple to create.  The most difficult part was free-hand cutting the template to do the sponging behind the leaves, but even that wasn’t too terribly difficult (just took some trial and error).

I stamped this card on Sahara Sand cardstock (121043).  I used Gumball Green (126861) to do the sponging and stamping.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Stamping Sponges (101610) to sponge up behind the leaves.  *Here’s a tip about the sponges – they come in 3 fairly large sponges in the package – I cut them up in quarters so you have more of them and I think they last longer that way!

The leaf is from Betsy’s Blossoms (126006) – I only inked up the part that I would be stamping.  “Thinking of You” was stamped from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set (127802).

Remember, a beautiful, heartfelt card doesn’t have to be super elaborate to warm the heart of a friend or family member!
