Introducing: Blendabilities!

I just received my pre-order today, and I was just too excited to dig in with the new stuff!

Here I played with Stampin’ Up!’s new Blendabilities, which are alcohol based markers you can blend to give a dimensional look. I used the Coastal Cabana color. Each color set comes with 3 markers – dark, medium and light.

I’ll be back later to discuss more fun product!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I cannot believe it is Thanksgiving already tomorrow!  I have my turkey sitting in a brine in the fridge and I am ready for the cooking frenzy to begin.

I know the holidays are hectic, which is why I am offering my customers a “Holiday Helper”.  I did this last year and a lot of people really loved it!  If you would like to receive my emails, please email me at BrookeStamps@gmail.com and I will add you to the list.

Card: Simple Butterfly

Simple Butterfly

Simple.  Beautiful.  Stunning.

I have fallen in love with this Swallowtail butterfly stamp.  Seriously, this handmade card is amazing and SO simple to make!

I used Staz On ink to stamp the butterfly, and put a little pearl on his body for some effect.  The sentiment came from the Petite Pairs set.

Simple Butterfly inside

This inside is a perfect compliment to the front of the card.  Simple and stunning.

I made this card for my Stamp Club.  If you would like to be a part of my monthly Stamp Club, please contact me for more details!

Spring Birthday

Spring Birthday

I created this card for my Stamp Club.  Again, it was part of the “simple” theme.  You can’t get much easier than stamping once and punching it out!  Then you punch 4 more pieces, wrap some Baker’s Twine around and glue on a beautiful button and you have a finished card!

Note that I used Crystal Effects to adhere the button to the card.  Since the button is clear, I didn’t want the “glue” to show up.

Simple, Pretty Flowers!

Bloomin Marvelous

I adore this card, but I can’t claim it as my own design.  I got the idea almost exactly from Mary Fish over at Stampinpretty.com.  Gotta give credit where credit is due!!  I used Crumb Cake on one of the flowers instead of Sahara Sand, but that is the only real difference between our cards.

I made this card for my Stamp Club.  They requested a quick, easy card, so I made three!  You will have to wait to see the others though.  And let me tell you, it’s worth the wait!

If you like this stamp set, it is only available until March 22nd during Sale-a-Bration, so hurry!

Happy Birthday Owl

On Monday I posted the boy birthday card we made for our recent Stamp Club meeting.  Today, I am posting the girl version of the card.  Personally, this is one of my all-time favorite cards!  I absolutely love the colors, and how the balloons seem to jump off the page.

Girl Birthday Owl

Did you notice how the owl has a little bow in her “hair”?  It’s punched out from two of the little hearts included on the owl punch.  How cool is that?!  Did you also notice how the balloon has the little white marks to give a 3D effect, and how it also has a bottom where the string is tied?  The white marks came from the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen, and the bottom of the balloon is actually from the feet of the owl punch!  Very neat, and just shows that you don’t have to use a punch for its intended purpose.

Super Owl!

Super Owl

My Stamp Club members requested boy and girl birthday cards for a recent meeting, so that’s what they got!  This is the boy birthday card that I made.  I got my inspiration from Pinterest (love that site!!), although mine looks a lot different than the sample.  Remember CASE (Copy and Share Everything!)

I used the Sale-a-Bration designer series paper, Sycamore Street.  I just love the vibrant colors of the paper!

To get the splatter behind the “flying” owl, I used the Color Spritzer Tool with and Island Indigo marker.  Super cool effect!

To make the owl, I cut off the feet once the whole owl was punched, then punched out Daffodil Delight feet and adhered them to the back of the owl.  I also cut out just the head part of the owl to make it look like he has a mask on.  His wings and cape are cut out with a circle punch.

I hope you have as much fun making this card as I did!
