MDS: Christmas 2012

Christmas 2012-001I just wanted to share the Christmas card that I created on My Digital Studio 2 this year.  I had this printed professionally (through MDS) and sent it out to my close friends and family.  I love how simple it was to create this card.  I purchased the template and added the pictures…that’s it!

I also created Olivia’s 2nd birthday invitations on My Digital Studio 2.  I can’t wait to share that with you all next month!

NEW – Paper Pumpkin!

DEMO_B1_Paper_Pumpkin_LogoThis is such exciting news!  Stampin’ Up! is going to be offering a new service for us time-crunched crafters!

I’m Paper Pumpkin . . .

I come to your door each month (a fully decked-out creativity carriage). I’ll help you to escape your life with some paper fun.

I come in a sweet box, but you’ll really love what you find on the inside:

All the stamps, ink, paper, and accessories to create pinable projects. Create stuff like cards, journals, décor, and more!

Paper Pumpkin by Stampin’ Up! is a new monthly kit program that anyone (even you) can enjoy!

Get Started

It’s so easy to get started. Simply sign up for the program starting Monday, January 14 by visiting and click Get it (make sure you select me, Brooke Doerfler, as your demonstrator when placing the order.) Every month a new, surprise project kit arrives at your doorstep. Just think of the anticipation of creating a fun project to pin, showoff, and share with your friends and family-every month!

Of course, you’ll want to know more. So here’s the nitty gritty:

  • Each month we send you a unique, surprise kit with a project-cards, journals, décor, and more! (We’ve even color-coordinated, measured, and cut everything for you!)
  • Each kit includes stamps, ink, paper, and accessories-everything but adhesive.
  • Each kit gives you a 30-minute creativity escape.
  • We will ship your Paper Pumpkin on or around the 15th of the month.
  • You need to sign up for a kit by the 10th of the month to get that month’s kit. If you sign up on the 11th of the month, your first kit will come the next month. (Let’s say you sign up on May 10th, we’ll send your kit around May 15th. If you sign up on May 11th, we’ll send your first kit around June 15th.)
  • A Paper Pumpkin membership is $19.95 per month (and shipping is included!)
  • There’s no commitment, you can cancel your monthly Paper Pumpkin at anytime. You can also skip a month if you want.
  • Starting in early March, we’ll offer a Try-It kit if you’d like to try Paper Pumpkin for one month.

Olivia’s First Card

I am so proud of my daughter, who will be 2 years old next month. I had her make a card for her friend’s birthday. Granted, it’s just sticking stickers on a piece of cardstock, but she picked out the stickers (which I got at Target) and I think she did a pretty good job with the placement!! I, of course, spelled out “Lizzie” and placed that for her. However, I just said “pick out the ‘L’, ‘I’,…” etc. I’m so proud she knows her letters already 🙂

The only Stampin’ Up! product I used is the cardstock (Perfect Plum), but I never skimp on my cardstock!!

Then I let Olivia loose with the pen to “write” a note to her friend.

Card: Bridal Shower

This is the card I posted during the Hawaii Ink Blog Hop on Sunday.  I just wanted to provide some details on how I created this card.

Baby Shower Full

I love the combination of Island Indigo and Melon Mambo on this card!  It really makes the Whisper White stand out as well.  I used the new Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create the clouds in the heart.

Welcome to the first ever Hawaii Ink Blog Hop!  This group is headed by Lisa Curcio, my direct upline in Stampin’ Up!  Although I don’t have the pleasure of living in the same State as Lisa, she has been a wonderful leader to me during my Stampin’ Up! career.

If you have come to my blog from Patty Coone’s, welcome!  If not, welcome to the Hawaii Ink Blog Hop!

Below is a card I created with my cousin’s Bridal Shower in mind.

Take notice of how the clouds pop up, as they are embossed.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of my wonderful readers!!  Today, I want to talk about resolutions.

I have always been big on making resolutions – but not so great about keeping them.  I’m planning on making 2013 the year where things HAPPEN.

First and foremost, I want to get better about blogging.  I want to inspire people to create.  And I want to be inspired by you, too.  I would love if you would leave me comments on what I post, let me know what you like and don’t like, and what you would like to see from me.  I do this blog for YOU, so I need your input to make it better.  This resolution is so important to me, in fact, that even though I am currently battling a really bad cold, I was in bed, unable to fall asleep because I was thinking to myself, “Ugh, it’s January 1st.  I resolved to blog more, and I really need to blog today of all days!”

Next up, I really need to get organized.  It’s really tough to create in a space that belongs on an episode of Hoarders.  (If you haven’t watched it, you totally need to – really addicting show to watch!)  I made some progress on this front of my life, but not nearly as far as I need.  Unfortunately, my craft space has ended up being the space where things just end up, waiting to be organized, sold, donated or trashed.  It makes the rest of my house much more livable, but makes me want to escape anywhere else, when my craft room should be my place to escape to!  If you have any tips, please, send them my way!

Among my non-crafty goals for the upcoming year, I would also like to lose a substantial amount of weight, get fit and healthy, run a 5K and a 10K (already signed up for both!), do more for/with my daughter and husband, learn Spanish, be a better listener, build more substantial relationships and deeper connections, and overall just try to be the best “me” I can be!  What are your resolutions for this year?

I’m sorry I don’t have a crafty project or announcement for you today, but I feel much better now that I have gotten this all off my mind and “out there” for the world to see.  Maybe that will help make it all a reality!  But for now, I must get back to bed and hopefully get rid of this nasty cold.
