Card: Praying for You

This card was created using the neutral color, Basic Gray (121044), as the base, with Whisper White cardstock (100730) on top.

The stamp set used is Thoughts & Prayers (127805).  This is a great set to have on hand for those moments when a friend needs you the most.  A card is a great way to express to someone that they are in your thoughts.

“Praying for You…” was stamped in Basic Gray (126981), along with the tree. To add some color to an otherwise somber card, I added bright Primrose Petals (126841) cardstock punched out with the flower shape from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (126881).  For another special detail, I added Pearl Basic Jewels (119247) to the center of the flowers.  Before adhering the Whisper White cardstock to the base, I ran the edges of the paper onto a Primrose Petals ink pad (126858) for a bit more dimension and color.

Card: For the Newlyweds

This is one of my favorite cards I have made!  I love the colors…I love the flowers…I love it all!  I think it’s a perfect wedding card that can be customized to the bridal colors (if you know them), or you could even put a different sentiment to make it a completely different card.

The base of this card is River Rock cardstock (108640).  The beautiful flowers were stamped on Whisper White cardstock (100730) in Marina Mist (126962) and Early Espresso (126974) using the Stippled Blossoms stamp set (126747).

To stamp the flowers, you need to use the masking technique.  You stamp the flower on a scrap piece of paper and carefully cut it out using the very sharp and precise Paper Snips (103579).  Then, you stamp the flower, first in Marina Mist, then the top layer stamp in Early Espresso on the Whisper White cardstock.  Then, you place the cut out flower over the flower you just stamped, and then stamp another flower over the top of that off to the side, so it looks like one of the flowers is in back of the other.

The sentiment came from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (127802).  I love this set, because you can choose from 24 different sentiments for whatever type of card you need to make.  I wrapped Basic Black 1/2″ Scallop Dots Ribbon (124145) around the Whisper White cardstock before matting that with the Marina Mist cardstock (119682).  Three Pearl Basic Jewels (119247) on the bottom finish off this classy card.
