Card: Congrats on Baby!

This is a baby shower card I made for one of my card classes a few months back.  I love the bright colors and the toy horse popped up with dimensionals.  The colors used are from the Brights Collection.  The cardstock is Daffodil Delight and Old Olive.  The A to Z stamp set was stamped in Old Olive and after the horse was attached, I used a Blender Pen to smudge the letters a little for a shadow effect. The toy horse from the hostess set Ain’t Love Grand was stamped with Early Espresso and colored in with Real Red, Soft Suede and Early Espresso.  The congrats sentiment from the toy horse image was stamped separately in Old Olive below the Big Top Birthday Designer Series Paper.  The button can be found in the Brights Designer Button pack.

Card: Birthday Announcement

I have to be honest – I did not think I would like the Big Top Birthday DSP very much, but in August when Stampin’ Up! ran their Designer Series Paper promotion, I ordered it.  I REALLY have enjoyed the papers this set includes!  The colors are bold and I have used them on many cards since purchasing the paper.  This card was very simple to make, but is a very fun card for a kid’s birthday.  I used the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle to cut out a spot for the boy making the birthday announcement.  The sentiment and the boy are found in the Ain’t Love Grand hostess stamp set.  The colors used to color and stamp are Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Basic Gray and Blushing Bride.  Real Red and Whisper White card stock was used as well.

Card: Love Balloon

I know Christmas was just a couple of weeks ago, but Valentine’s Day really is right around the corner!  I love the vibrant look of this card.  It’s a perfect way to show either the special love in your life, or a friend or family member, just how much you care about them.  The balloon image was found in the hostess set Ain’t Love Grand stamp set.  It was colored in using Stampin’ Write Markers – Melon Mambo and Regal Rose.  The balloon’s basket was colored in with River Rock.  Melon Mambo and Whisper White card stock was used, along with Melon Mambo Patterns DSP and Berry Blossoms DSP.

Card: Remember When

I’m a huge fan of using Designer Series Paper (a/k/a DSP) these days.  It instantly adds a lot of detail and fun to cards.  I used Berry Blossoms on this card.  The card stock is Old Olive, along with Calypso Coral and Early Espresso for the flower.  I used the Build a Blossom stamp set for the flower and the Blossom Petals Builder punch and the 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle punch.  Remember When was stamped using the Word Play stamp set.  The final detail is an Early Espresso button from the Neutrals Designer Button collection.

Card: Hip-hip-hooray!

Above is a card I made for a workshop a few months ago.  It is one of my favorites.  I love the colors and the way the flowers pop off the card.  I used the stamp set Flower Fest and the hostess set, Happiest Birthday Wishes.  I used In Colors Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Lucky Limeade with the standard Whisper White.  The pretty raindrops are on the Designer Series Paper – Berry Blossoms.  The 2-3/8″ Scallop Circle coordinates with the stamp set, Flower Fest, which is super convenient!  Basic Pearls finalize the elegant look of this card.

A New Year, A New Mini Catalog!

I know I have been MIA for a while, but it’s a new year and I’m resolving to be around more in 2012!

The new Occasions Mini Catalog went live today, and it’s definitely a MUST SEE!

One product from this catalog that I would highly recommend for those of us who are busy (and who isn’t these days?!), is the Simply Sent Create & Keep Kit (122380).  This kit has EVERYTHING you need to create 10 beautiful cards and a box to keep them in!  I’m not exaggerating when I say that it only took me about 20 minutes to create all of the cards and the box below – it’s that easy!
